Hypnosis: A Shortcut to Lasting Results
My husband, Bob, is the king of driving shortcuts. I am both impressed and annoyed by his ability to get us to any local destination at least ten minutes faster than my routes. To Bob, yellow lights mean ‘go faster,’ and long lines of slow-moving cars mean ‘find a shortcut.’ His brain must carry images of every street in our community because he zips down roads that I had no idea even existed. For Bob, his intense dislike of sitting still in a ‘moving’ vehicle compels him to take wild, adventurous shortcuts.
I don’t know his shortcuts or care to learn them because I’m rarely motivated to get out of traffic, welcoming the opportunity to slow down and listen to one more podcast. For me, I dislike slow-moving lines in airports, grocery stores, and coffee kiosks. I’m always on the lookout for shortcuts in those situations. What drives you crazy? Where do you consistently look for shortcuts?
We don’t look for shortcuts when we’re enjoying ourselves, do we? Discomfort, irritation, and impatience drive us to find shortcuts. It’s also discomfort, irritation, and impatience that drive us to do our healing work.
Only when the discomfort and irritation of life outweigh the familiar comfort of our routine do we begin looking for new routes and new ways of living our lives. None of us changes until we must. Then, once we decide to make a change, we want it to happen fast, and if it doesn’t, we get discouraged and often quit. According to Drive Research, only 9% of people keep their New Year resolutions for one full year. That’s a staggering failure rate, but not surprising. We’ve all been there. We’ve all broken promises to ourselves, promises we really meant.
Why do we so easily fail to make the changes we want to make? It’s biology. Our brains are wired to keep us in balance or homeostasis. Our brains are hard-wired to like what’s familiar and resist what’s unfamiliar. The key is to make what’s unfamiliar familiar by taking action and staying in action until what was once unfamiliar becomes familiar. Most of us need support to make the changes we authentically want to make. You don’t have to be among the 91% who fail, but you might need help to be in the 9%.
The question isn’t ‘can you,’ but ‘will you’?
Coaching can support you to move forward in life, and when you add hypnotherapy to coaching, you can move forward far faster than with either modality on its own. I’ve been a professional coach for over a decade now, and I have never seen people make such rapid progress as I am seeing now by adding hypnotherapy to my work. Hypnotherapy could very well be the shortcut you’ve been looking for in your own life. Let me share a few success stories with you.
A woman wanted to reduce her intake of wine because she felt it had become a crutch and worried about eventual addiction. In one single hypnotherapy session, she easily identified why she started drinking wine in the first place, heard her own inner guidance, and lost all desire for wine. Hypnotherapy helped her relax enough to access long-buried memories that had everything to do with why she turned to alcohol, and then we did healing work around that memory, which completely eradicated any longing for wine. That’s rare. Typically, it takes 6-12 hypnotherapy sessions on a single issue to experience freedom.
Hypnotherapy is a shortcut because it bypasses the conscious mind to get to the unconscious memories and programming that drive our lives.
I prefer to pair hypnotherapy with coaching because while deep healing is rooted in the subconscious, we want our conscious mind to be in the driver's seat of our lives. Coaching works with the conscious mind. Life becomes magical when we work with both.
Another woman was working on decreasing her addiction to screens, especially her phone. In one hypnotherapy session, she became clear on how her addiction was serving her, protecting her, and, in its way, keeping her safe. It was outdated programming that she no longer needed, and she was able to let it go.
Finally, I worked with a woman who was considering a career change due to carpal tunnel in both wrists. This woman popped into a past life during regression that had everything to do with why her wrists hurt her in this life and awakened without any pain.
I want to help you reach the results you long for! I am certain you can if you show up for yourself, do the work, and act. Hypnotherapy can be a supportive shortcut.
If you're ready to embrace change and experience lasting transformation, hypnotherapy could be the supportive shortcut you've been seeking on your journey to personal growth and fulfillment.
